Donations

As a 501(c)3 non-profit, Apelah is a tax exempt charitable organization. Donations to our agency go towards supporting our programs and services. Our donor community allows us to give more foster children loving homes and help more people live independently at home as they age. As a part of our vision, we strive to ensure fiscal accountability for the use of all of our funding. We know that a donation is a sign of support for our mission, and we want every donor to feel confident in the work that we do.

Mississippi Department of Human Services

As a specialized foster care provider, Apelah has a contract with the Mississippi Department of Human Services to recruit and train foster parents as well as manage the cases of foster children in need of special care and their siblings. While the state handles the cases for most foster children through their own network, our resource parents and case managers are trusted to give children the extra care they need to thrive. The contracts with DHS cover a part of the costs of our foster care program.
