Felicia is the Program Director with Apelah Foster Care in Hernando, MS.  She began her career in foster care in 1990 and has over 30 years of Case Management experience. Felicia earned a B.S in Sociology from Tennessee State University in 1989 and an M.S. in Health Services Administration from Strayer University in 2021.  Her passion is working to improve the lives of children placed in state custody due to abuse and neglect.

Felicia has worked on three spectrums of the foster care system as a Child Protective Services worker, Foster Care Case Manager, and Case Manager Supervisor. She states while the job is a challenge, it is rewarding at the same time.

There is a dire need for foster parents and adoptive homes, as there are so many children in need of a safe, secure, and permanent home. Moreover, there is a dire need for transitional living for children who have aged out of foster care and need independent living skills and supportive services to be able to care for themselves. In my spare time, Felicia enjoys spending time with my family, going to the movies, and traveling.
