Apelah partners with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide in-home care to elderly and disabled veterans. If you are a Northern Mississippi veteran who receives 70% or more of your care from the VA, you may qualify to receive Apelah’s services. Contact your care provider at the VA to find out if you’re eligible.
Our In-Home Services provide support and assistance to help individuals to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Apelah staff visit the home and assist with non-medical tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and helping clients get around.
Of course, our clients all have different needs and require different levels of care. Apelah offers a range of in-home services meant to meet the specific needs of each client:
Personal Care Visits: One of our home care specialists will help you do things like get out of bed, take a bath, get dressed, prepare meals, and/or assist with toileting.
Attendant Care: This service offers the same kind of help you would get with personal care visits but for longer periods of time.
Homemaker Services: An Apelah home care specialist will help with your household chores like laundry, sweeping, mopping or running errands like grocery shopping or doctor visits.
In-home Respite Care: Someone will stay with you in your home for a short time so your caregiver can get some rest.
We offer our services in DeSoto, Tunica, Tate, and Marshall counties.
